Sansone's Two Goals Lift Women's Soccer to 3-2 Victory over Felician

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team topped Felician College by a 3-2 count in a non-conference game at Spartan Field. Lindsey Sansone scored a pair of goals and Alyssa Rosania added the other for the Lady Spartans, who improved to 4-10 on the season while dropping Felician to 6-9.

Sansone got the ball rolling early, taking a cross from Annalise Warren and converting at 13:23 to put STAC on the board first. That lead would hold through the first 45 minutes, but there was a much more scoring in store after the halftime break.

Felician knotted the score on a penalty kick at 59:37, but Rosania's blast from outside found its mark at 69:00, putting the Lady Spartans back on top with a 2-1 advantage. Sansone's eighth of the year provided a big insurance tally at 81:14, with the Golden Falcons drawing back to within one with just 3:35 left in regulation. Lauren Morales earned her third win of the season in the STAC net, with Courtney Dumain relieving in the second half. STAC outshot Felician on the afternoon by a 15-9 total.

The Lady Spartans travel to face NYIT on Wednesday, October 28, before wrapping up the season on Saturday, October 31, against LIU Post at Spartan Field. Both games are East Coast Conference matches, with Saturday's finale kicking off at 1:00 pm.
