Women's Soccer Drops Season Finale to LIU Post, 3-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team wrapped up the 2015 season with a 3-0 East Coast Conference loss to LIU Post at Spartan Field. The Lady Spartans finished at 5-11-0 overall and 2-7 in ECC play, with Post improving to 14-2-2, 6-1-2.

STAC started strong, playing evenly with the tough Pioneers over the first 15 minutes of play. Post began to assert control thereafter, and Julia Backman provided goals at 26:58 and 36:49 to provide the visitors with a halftime lead.

Courtney Dumain made three saves in the Lady Spartans net before giving way to Lauren Morales in the second half. Morales also accounted for three saves, with her only blemish coming at 59:21 from LIU Post sniper Suzanne Vistnes, her 19th goal of the season, to account for the final margin.

Post held a 15-8 advantage in shots for the game, though the Lady Spartans held their own against the conference power, with each team recording six shots in the second half.
