STAC Women's Soccer Falls in 1-0 ECC Battle at Queens

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 decision in an East Coast Conference tilt at Queens College. The Lady Spartans fell to 3-6-0 on the season and 0-3-0 overall, with Queens improving to 2-5-0, 1-1-0.

Courtney Dumain kept STAC alive in a scoreless first half despite a 12-4 disadvantage in shots. Queens hit the board early in the second half when Haley Gibbons converted a rebound at 47:20 for what would prove to be the day's only goal. Dumain kept her team in the contest until the final whistle, turning aside seven shots as the Knights outshot the Lady Spartans by a 23-6 total.

St. Thomas Aquinas will now play three of the next four games at home, starting on Tuesday in a 3:00 non-conference start against Georgian Court. They will return to conference action on Saturday, October 1, in a noon start against Mercy College.
