Lady Spartans Fall in ECC Women's Soccer Contest at Bridgeport

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team suffered a 9-0 loss at the University of Bridgeport in an East Coast Conference battle. The Lady Spartans fell to 3-11-0 overall and 0-6-0 in the ECC with the defeat, while Bridgeport improved to 9-3 overall with a perfect 3-0 conference mark.

Though St. Thomas Aquinas actually accounted for the first two shots of the game, Bridgeport assumed control thereafter, scoring six goals over the first 33 minutes of play. Four of those came from Adola Igarre, who increased her season goals total to 14 with the outburst. Courtney Dumain held the fort in the Lady Spartans net, making 10 saves as her squad was outshot by a 33-6 margin on the evening.

The Lady Spartans will celebrate Senior Day in their final home game, hosting NYIT on Wednesday, October 19 at 2:30 pm. They will then wrap up the season with another conference test, heading to LIU Post on Saturday, October 22.
