Women's Soccer Falls in ECC Contest against Molloy, 4-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team fell to a 4-0 defeat against Molloy College in an East Coast Conference contest at Spartan Field. The Lady Spartans fell to 3-10, 0-5 with the loss, while Molloy improved to 5-5-1, 3-1.

Molloy carried the play in the early going and Katlyn Merino put the visitors on the board just 1:54 into the contest as the Lions proceeded to take the first seven shots of the game. STAC settled in from there but it was Merino again converting, this time in the final two minutes of the half, with a pretty top-corner shot at 43:59 making the score 2-0.

Courtney Nokes gave the Lions a comfortable 3-0 edge at the 50:22 mark and Danielle Valente closed out the scoring at 63:00 to provide the final margin. Courtney Dumain turned aside 13 shots in the Lady Spartans net as STAC was outshot by a 27-7 margin on the day.

The Lady Spartans travel to the University of Bridgeport for another conference contest this Wednesday, October 12, before closing out their home schedule on Senior Day against NYIT on Wednesday, October 19.
