Women's Soccer Ends Season with 4-0 Loss at Mercy

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team wrapped up the 2017 season with a 4-0 loss in an East Coast Conference contest at Mercy College. The Lady Spartans finished the season with a 6-9-1 overall record and 2-6 in the ECC, while Mercy continued its strong season in improving to 14-3, 7-1.

Less than 10 minutes into the game, Mercy's Ally Boots displayed why she's the conference's second leading scorer with a trio of quick goals. Boots scored at 1:10, 7:34, and 9:49 - on a pair of assists from Heidi Serna and another from Trista Seara - to give her team a 3-0 lead. Mercy controlled play throughout the game, closing out the scoring with a marker from RaeAnn Ioannu at 85:08.

STAC was outshot by a 20-3 mark on the afternoon while goalkeeper Courtney Dumain, who set a new program record with six shutouts this season, made seven saves in the game, ending the season tied for the conference lead in that category with 92.
