The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team scored four times in the first half and cruised to a 6-0 victory over Washington Adventist University at Spartan Field. The Lady Spartans are now 5-8-1 overall this season, with WAU falling to 4-10.

Senior Day festivities preceeded the team's final home game of the season, and STAC carried the momentum against the undermanned visitors from the opening whistle. The Lady Spartans had several opportunities early, only to be turned aside by Shock goalkeeper Laura Perez. The hosts broke through at the 7:25 mark when Francesca Giglio's pass found a breaking Deja Tingling, whose perfect shot accounted for her first goal.

WAU held tough in the first half until Sarah Colotti scored on a pass from Tauntyouna Guinter to open the flood gates at 38:41. Only 86 seconds later, Kelsey Ardizzone took a pretty pass from Mekenzie Moreau and netted her first of two straight, with the second coming just over three minutes later from a Colotti assist.

At 60:05, Guinter scored on a feed from Cristina Moretzo, and Silvia Jaeske rounded out the barrage on a nice through ball from Ardizzone at 64:36. St. Thomas Aquinas fired a season-high 29 shots on net, with Perez having a strong game with 17 saves, many from in close. The only question from that point was whether STAC netminder Courtney Dumain would record the shutout.

In fact, Dumain, who has been on a tear of late, needed just two saves to register her record-setting fifth shutout of the season. In doing so, she lowered her season goals against average to 1.26 with an impressive .814 save percentage. She has allowed just three goals over her last six games, with four clean sheets over her past eight contests.

The Lady Spartans will finish the campaign with a pair of road contests, traveling to face Lincoln (PA) on Wednesday, October 25, before traveling to face Mercy College on Saturday, October 28.
