Women's Soccer Falls at LIU Post, 3-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team fell to a 3-0 defeat in an East Coast Conference contest at LIU Post. The Lady Spartans slip to 6-6-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the ECC, with Post improving to 9-2-3, 5-1-2.

Both teams combined for just three shots in a defensive first half - with the Pioneers holding a 2-1 advantage - but the hosts were able to get on the board first when Sydney Pascarella tallied her sixth of the season at the 23:47 mark. LIU Post added an insurance marker early in the second half as Paige Sherlock hit the net on a free kick at 50:23 to make the score 2-0.

STAC continued to struggle to generate offense and LIUP put the contest away on Julia Duffy's unassisted goal at 73:00. The Lady Spartans defense held Post to just seven shots for the game but recorded just two of their own in falling to their second straight defeat.

The Lady Spartans will play their final three games of the season at home, starting with Senior Day at Spartan Field against Bloomfield College on Saturday, October 20 at 11:00 am.
