Women's Soccer Battles to Scoreless Draw at Roberts Wesleyan

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie in an East Coast Conference battle at Roberts Wesleyan College. STAC snapped a six-game losing streak and is now 0-6-1 overall and 0-1-1 in ECC play, while RWC stands at 4-2-1, 0-0-1.

Defenses ruled the day as the squads combined for only 20 shots overall, with the host Redhawks firing 14 to just six for the Spartans. Only nine shots were put on frame, with neither team doing so over the 20 minutes of extra time. Colleen Stevens made six saves for STAC in earning her first shutout, while Kelsey Brinkel turned aside three to earn the clean sheet.

The Spartans now have a week off before returning to conference action with a trip to NYIT next Saturday, October 5, with kickoff at 2:30 pm. They return to Spartan field on Tuesday, October 8, hosting Southern New Hampshire in a non-conference match-up before playing their next four on the road.
