Women's Soccer Comes Up Short in Season Finale with 2-1 Loss to Daemen

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team wrapped up the 2019 season with a tough 2-1 loss to Daemen College in East Coast Conference action at Spartan Field. The Spartans close out the season with an overall mark of 2-13-2, and 1-5-2 in conference play, while Daemen improved to 11-3-3, 4-2-2.

Daemen jumped on top quickly at the 4:21 mark when Jamie Boyar netted her 17th goal of the season, the second best in the ECC. Boyar added another at 27:11 to stake the Wildcats to a 2-0 lead, but Victoria DeMarco brought STAC to within 2-1 with her third of the campaign at the 40:41 mark.

The Spartans held a 7-4 lead in shots through intermisssion, but that was to be all the scoring on the afternoon Maddie Flores made five saves to preserve the win for Daemen, while Colleen Stevens and Alex Santoriello handled the netminding duties for St. Thomas Aquinas.
