Sparkill, N.Y. – The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team fell to Roberts Wesleyan College, 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Field. The Spartans moved to 4-10 overall and 2-6 in the ECC, while the Redhawks improved to 6-7-1 and 5-3 in conference play.
Prior to the contest, STAC honored its graduating senior class; Jacquelyn Kaplan, Justine Drum, Merari Rodriguez, Jacquelyn Murphy and Caitlin Speranza with on-field ceremonies, which included the athletes' families, teammates, coaches and college administrators.
How it Happened
- Katarina Ott scored on a free kick in the 24th minute to put St. Thomas Aquinas ahead 1-0.
- Stevielyn Diggory found the back of the net in the 29th minute on a header off of a corner kick by teammate Morgan Razzano to even the score, 1-1.
- The match was tied at one at the half.
- The Redhawks took the lead in the 81st minute, as Abagail Sindoni would steal the ball from a Spartan defender and fire a shot to the net, past keeper Colleen Stevens to make it 2-1 Roberts Wesleyan.
