Women's Soccer Forges 1-1 Draw with Felician

Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team was unable to maintain a late lead against the Felician University Golden Falcons on Wednesday afternoon, playing to a 1-1 draw in a non-conference match at Spartan Field.

STAC (2-7-2) scored early in the second half (55') on a goal via a header past keeper Karlie Cabrera courtesy of junior Ileana Santiago, with the assist coming from freshman Sarai Rodriguez on a corner kick.

Felician (2-8-2) battled back, tying the score in the 67th minute, as the Spartans backed off of its pressure on what was thought to be an offside play by the Golden Falcons. However, the play was ruled onside, allowing Kate Braun to bypass the STAC defenders and make her way to the net and firing a shot past keeper Colleen Stevens.
