Early Scoring Pushes Goldey-Beacom Past STAC in 2022 Season Opener

Wilmington, Del. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team dropped a 5-0 result to Goldey-Beacom College, in the Spartans 2022 season opener on Friday afternoon at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.

Goldey-Beacom's Angela Lee and Alex Lowry tallied a pair of goals each, while Alyssa Ruggeri registered a three-point day with a goal and two assists. Lee posted the first (19th minute) and final goals (82nd minute) of the match, with Lowry getting on the scoresheet in the 30th and 79th minutes. Ruggeri's tally came in the 50th minute.

Rachel Brownell (two shots), Amandajane Fuchs-White (one shot) and Arianna Tribble (one shot) posted strikes on frame, and saw them all saved by Lightning keeper Nikki Cashin (W, 1-0).

Alessandra Santoriello (L, 0-1) got the start in net for STAC and made seven saves on the afternoon.
