St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer player Amalie Steen has been named the East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player & Rookie of the Week, following the Spartans 2-0 week on the pitch, with wins against University of Maine at Fort Kent (2-1) and Roberts Wesleyan University (2-1).
Steen (Oslo, Norway) tallied three goals over two games last week for STAC. The freshman forward scored the game-winning goal in the Spartans’ 2-1 non-conference win over Bengals on Tuesday, before netting both of STAC’s goals in a 2-1 road win over the Redhawks on Saturday. The Spartans remain unbeaten in the month of October (3-0-1).
STAC (3-5-3, 2-1-1 ECC) returns home to host Molloy University in an ECC matchup on Saturday, October 19 at Spartan Field. Senior Day festivities are set to precede the 12:00 p.m. tilt between the Spartans and Lions.
