
St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer players Amalie Steen and Kaitlyn Maguire were each selected for All-Conference honors on Wednesday, as the East Coast Conference revealed its annual awards, voted on by the conference's coaches. Steen earned Second Team accolades, while Maguire took home Third Team kudos.
Steen (Fr.|Oslo, Norway) recorded a team-leading 7 goals for 14 points, while playing in 14 regular season contests for STAC. Her 50 total shots (29 on goal) and three game-winning goals were also tops for the Spartans. Amalie was recognized for her outstanding playing during the regular season with both ECC Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week awards on October 14.
Maguire (Jr.|Wilmington Mass.) racked up 2 goals and 2 assists for 6 points, while suiting up for all 15 Spartans matches to date. She also accumulated 41 shots (28 on goal) and is the team's corner kick specialist.
#6 STAC (3-9-3, 2-4-1 ECC) takes on #3 Queens College (9-6-1, 4-3 ECC) in the First Round of the East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Tournament on Thursday, November 7. Kickoff between the Spartans and Knights is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the QC Varsity Soccer Field in Flushing, New York.
