Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - Playing its final regular season match before heading off to the East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Tournament for the first time in program history, St. Thomas Aquinas College dropped a 2-0 decision to Mercy University on Saturday afternoon in Westchester County.
STAC moves to 3-9-3 overall and 2-4-1 within the ECC, while Mercy improves to 9-7-2 and 4-3-0. The Spartans will be the No. 6 seed in the upcoming conference tournament, as the Mavericks take the No. 4 seed into postseason play.
Ana Polychroniades and Ella Gallino tallied a goal apiece for Mercy.
Isabella Diianni, Sophie Stanley, Ninni Ringstad and Olivia Gaillard each posted shots on frame for the Spartans, and saw them all saved by Mavericks keeper Anneliese Becker (9-7-2) to earn her ninth win in 18 tries.
Catalena Robson (L, 2-7-3) got the start between the sticks for STAC and made eight saves on ten shots.
