Spartans Shutout By Cross-town Rivals Dominican, 2-0

Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team dropped a 2-0 non-conference result to cross-town rivals Dominican University on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Field.

STAC falls to 0-1-1 on the year, while Dominican improves to 1-1-0.

Jessie Maraia led the Chargers' offense on the day, tallying a goal in the 13th minute, while also adding an assist on Emilie Stochkel's goal in the 28th minute.

Ninni Ringstad registered a game-high five shots in the match for STAC, with one going on frame. Teammates Amalie Steen, Sarai Rodriguez and Larymar Hernandez were also able to send a shot apiece on toward Dominican keeper Nelly Arvidsson (W, 1-1), who stopped them all to earn her first shutout of the season. 

Haley Liss (L, 0-1) got the start in net for the maroon and gold and made one save on three shots, before being replaced by teammate Catalena Robson for the final 33 plus minutes of action. Robson stopped both shots sent her way by the Chargers' offense.
