Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team fell 3-1 in conference action to No. 16 nationally ranked Mercy University on Wednesday afternoon at Spartan Field in the Lower Hudson Valley.
STAC drops to 1-9-3 overall and 1-4-1 in ECC play, while Mercy improves to 11-1-2 and 3-0-2.
Ancksu Dixson tallied a pair of goals for the Mavericks, while teammate Hailey Metzger chipped in a goal of her own. Goalkeeper Anneliese Becker (W, 11-1-2) turned aside four of five shots faced to earn the victory.
Meanwhile, Sarai Rodriguez scored the lone goal for the Spartans with the assist credited to Amelia Hammond. Keeper Catalena Robson (L, 1-5-1) made 13 stops on 16 shots in a losing effort.
