Women's Tennis Selected 6th in ECC Poll

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's tennis team was selected 6th in the ECC pre season poll voted on by the conference coaches.  The Spartans finished last season 3-4 in the ECC and 5-11 overall.

The Spartans welcome five newcomers; freshmen Lovisa Engstrand, Michella Iosipov and Cassandra Rohr along with sophomores Ulyana Kitcmanuk and Anna Ristova.  The new faces will join up with a trio of seniors; Nyenyeri Kanefu, Carolyn Kopf and Sara O'Brien as well as returning sophomore Katarina Lopez.  

The Spartans will open up with three road matches starting with September 9th at Saint Rose.  They will have their first home match of the season on September 15th when they host pre season top ranked NYIT.  The Bears received six of the possible eight 1st place votes.  Queens College came in 2nd and received the other two 1st place votes.  

Head Coach Matt Capell begins his second season coaching the women's program.
