St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis player Eliza Mulder was recognized by the East Coast Conference with Rookie of the Week honors on Wednesday, after the Spartans 2-0 week on the court and historic success at the Oracle/ITA East Region Tournament last weekend.
Mulder won two singles matches to advance to the Round of 16 at the Oracle/ITA East Regional in Queens, NY. She defeated Maria Bruno from Goldey-Beacom 6-3, 7-6 (4) and following that with a win over Alexandra Dumitrescu from Concordia 7-6 (6), 6-3. Mulder also helped the Spartans to a pair of team victories earlier in the week. She went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles and 1-1 at No. 2 singles in wins over Dominican College and the College Staten Island.
East Coast Conference play will resume this weekend, when the Spartans will take on the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks on Friday, September 20 at Noon, and the Daemen College Wildcats on Saturday, September 21 at 11 AM.
