Spartan Recruit Report: Women's Tennis Signs Seven for 2020-2021 Season

After yet another record-setting season for the St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team, which saw STAC go 11-7 (3-2 ECC) and return to postseason play after a one year hiatus, Head Coach Matt Capell's squad will welcome seven new additions to the program for the 2020-21 school year, while only graduating two seniors; Katarina Lopez and Anna Ristova. A blend of transfers and traditional freshmen should help the Lady Spartans add experience and depth to team with eleven returners and hopefully contend for an East Coast Conference championship.

Here is a look at the future STAC Class of 2024 alphabetically.

Dauphine Donker

Dauphine Donker: Amersfoort, Netherlands

Coach Capell on Donker: "Dauphine is a strong hardcourt player with a big serve and powerful forehand. Her volley game should be a major weapon for us and she should help our doubles play."

Alba Guijo Parra

Alba Guijo Parra: Badajoz, Spain

Coach Capell on Parra: "Alba comes in as one of the highest-ranked freshmen we've ever had. She should compete immediately at the top of the lineup, and is a very aggressive player that pounces on her opponents' mistakes. She should be an exciting player to watch in the region."

Brooke Lopez

Brooke Lopez: New City, NY (Albertus Magnus High School)

Coach Capell on Lopez: "We have been recruiting Brooke for a long time and are very happy to have her joining us. She is one of Rockland County's best and will be counted on to compete. She should have a great career at STAC!"

Jemima Parkinson

Jemima Parkinson: Gloucestershire, United Kingdom

Coach Capell on Parkinson: "Jemima is a sleeper and should make an impact right away. Her court coverage and footwork are second to none, and she is a tremendous competitor that should fit in seamlessly in the college game."

Viktoriia Pavlovets

Viktoriia Pavlovets: Saint Petersburg, Russia (Idaho State University)

Coach Capell on Pavlovets: "Vika is the most recent addition to the program, coming from Division I Idaho State. Her experience and tenacity will see her hit the ground running and competing right away at the top of the lineup. She also gives us a lot of versatility with her strong doubles game."

Samanta Villegas Robles

Samanta Villegas Robles: Leon, Mexico (Northwest Missouri State University)

Coach Capell on Robles: "Samy comes from a nationally-ranked Division II program and is a fiery competitor. She is a tremendous doubles player, which will be a major help for us. No one is a bigger fighter and I could see her playing anywhere in the lineup."

Flaminia Valci

Flaminia Maria Valci: Rome, Italy (Augusta University)

Coach Capell on Valci: "Flaminia has a ton of collegiate match experience and will be one of our strongest doubles players. We are very excited to see what she will be able to accomplish here at STAC!"
