Women's Tennis Downs Caldwell 7-0, Sees Win Streak Reach Seven

CALDWELL, NJ – The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women’s Tennis team won their program record seventh consecutive match on Thursday, besting host Caldwell University by a 7-0 score.  Duos of Jemima Parkinson ‘24 (Gloucester, England) and Ayesha Burnett ’23 (Wellington, New Zealand) at first singles and Flaminica Valci ’23 (Rome, Italy) and Dauphine Donker ’24 (Amersfoort, Netherlands) would sweep the top two doubles matchups to secure a 1-0 Spartan lead.

            Samanta Villegas Robles ’23 (Leon, Mexico) would clinch the match for the visitors with a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles, while Viktoriia Pavlovets ’23 (St. Petersburg, Russia) won at third singles 6-1, 6-1 and Karina Blas ’22 (Tarnow, Poland) would win 6-2, 6-1 at first singles.  With the match decided, Eliza Mulder ’23 (Schoonhoven, Netherlands) would round out the scoring with an 8-0 tally at fourth singles.

            The Spartans are next up as they play host to perennial East Region power Queens College on Saturday.  First serve is set for 10 AM, weather permitting.
