Williamsville, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team wrapped up their season-long five-match road stand, sweeping D'Youville College 7-0 in ECC action on Sunday afternoon at the Village Glen Tennis Club in Williamsville.
STAC opened things up with a dominant performance in doubles play. The Spartans won two competitions, as Jemima Parkinson and Ayesha Burnett played at No. 2 and took care of business vs. Alisson Meissner and Taylor-Anne Austin, 6-0. Samanta Villegas Robles and Elita Silins defeated Yuliia Kashtelian and Camilla Duteil, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, with the third doubles matchup not taking place.
St. Thomas Aquinas led 1-0 after winning the doubles point and did not let off the gas in singles competition, taking all six singles competitions. Karina Blas defeated Yuliia Kashtelian, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Elita Silins defeated Camilla Duteil, 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2. Giovanna Jallas took care of business at No. 3 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Taylor Nash. Vera Gak Anagrova defeated Alisson Meissner, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and Alba Guijo defeated Taylor-Anne Austin, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5. The No. 6 singles match between the teams did not occur.
