
Middlebury, Conn. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team recorded its tenth straight victory, shutting out Post University, 7-0 on Saturday morning at the Edgewood Bath and Tennis Club. STAC improves to 19-2, while Post falls to 4-7 on the year.
STAC opened the day, taking two out of three matches in doubles play to secure the first team point. The duo of Jemima Parkinson and Elita Silins captured a 6-2 victory at No. 2, followed by the No. 1 pair of Ebba Rosberg and Samanta Villegas Robles taking a 6-4 win.
Once the Spartans secured their initial point, there was no turning back. St. Thomas Aquinas jumped right into singles play, taking all six matches from the Eagles to secure their tenth consecutive triumph. Ebba Rosberg picked up a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 1, followed by Viktoriia Pavlovets' 6-2, 7-5 win at the No. 2 spot. Karina Blas posted a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 3, with Elita Silins taking the No. 4 match 6-0, 6-3. Eliza Mulder and Giovanna Jallas both posted 6-0, 6-0 wins in the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, respectively to help sweep all of the individual contests.
