Kissimmee, Fla. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team opened its four match Spring Break Florida tour with a 6-1 triumph over Quincy University on Monday afternoon.
STAC opened things up taking two out of three matchups to secure the team doubles point. The duo of Ebba Rosberg & Samanta Villegas Robles took a 6-2 victory at No. 1, followed by Paula Palero & Eliza Mulder taking a 7-6 (4) win at the No. 3 position.
Once the Spartans secured the doubles point, there was no turning back. St. Thomas Aquinas jumped right into singles play, taking five of six matches from Quincy to secure a team win on the day. Viktoriia Pavlovets beat Blanca Salas Cruz (6-3, 6-4), Paula Palero defeated Steffi Lao (6-3, 6-3), Samanta Villegas Robles dispatched Juliana Vidal (7-5, 6-0), Elita Silins bested Katrin Ismailova (7-5, 6-1) and Eliza Mulder defeated Paula Martinez (6-0, 6-0).
