New Paltz, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team made its way north to Ulster County for a Friday afternoon tilt with SUNY New Paltz in a clash of NCAA Division II vs. Division III teams.
A quick turnaround from yesterday's match against Jefferson University and playing in less than ideal conditions, as the Spartans faced cold temperatures and windy conditions, the visitors from Sparkill responded with a 9-0 shutout victory over the Hawks.
Elita Silins and Alba Guijo both went 2-0 on the day, with each winning their respective doubles and singles matchups.

"Vika looked terrific at the top of the lineup", remarked Rockhill. "She was hitting quality shots from both sides. It was also nice to see Eliza continue her strong play using her forehand to dictate points. I am really pleased with Elita and Alba as well, as both registered two wins on the day."
"We will take a few days off for the Easter holiday and resume Monday versus Goldey-Beacom. I expect a difficult regional match but I believe our team will be ready to compete."
