Troutman, N.C. - St. Thomas Aquinas College triathletes Hanna Jung and Chanelle Russell saved their best races for when it mattered most. Both Spartans had their best swims of the season on Saturday to put themselves in great position to finish the East Regional Qualifier at Lake Norman State Park in Troutman, North Carolina, and qualify for the upcoming Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships.
On the bike course that had Jung and Russell navigate 16 speed bumps, and a hilly run, the pair did what they needed to do to cross the finish line in a position to be selected for National Championship contention.
Now Hanna Jung and Chanelle Russell will make their way to Clermont, Florida, along with Coach Jeff Boyer, for the Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships, which will be held on November 9 at Lake Louisa State Park.
