Women's Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision At Queens

Queens, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball team continued its three-match ECC road stand, visiting Queens College on Tuesday evening. The first place Knights, continued to dominate its competition, setting down the visiting Spartans in a 3-0 decision at Fitzgerald Gymnasium.

STAC slips to 5-12 overall and 0-5 in ECC play, while Queens improves to 15-5 and a perfect 5-0.

How it Happened

  • As a team, Queens recorded 40 kills compared to STAC's 24. The Knights also had 6 blocks and 39 assists, while the Spartans tallied 4 blocks and 23 assists.
  • Queens outhit STAC by a .326 to .067 margin for the match.
  • Greta Santini paced the Spartans offense with a team-high eight kills on Tuesday. She also registered one assist and five digs.
  • Lea Venghaus tallied 18 serve assists (6.0 assists/set). Venghaus also accumulated two kills, a service ace and three digs for the maroon and gold.
  • Evie Paalman tallied seven kills, an assist, seven digs and a block assist on the evening.
  • Addison Miller picked up a team-high 12 digs, along with five service aces.
  • Christianna Roberts and Isis Barrett combined to put together a five kill, one assist, one service ace, two dig and three block assist effort for STAC.
