Women's Volleyball Unable To Overcome Daemen In 3-0 Loss

Sparkill, N.Y. - Playing the second half of back-to-back matches on Sunday, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball team suffered its second-straight defeat at the hands of a Buffalo-area opponent, falling 3-0 to Daemen University at the Spartan Athletic Complex.

STAC slips to 7-16 overall and 1-9 in ECC play, while Daemen improves to 16-7 and 8-3.

How it Happened

  • As a team, Daemen recorded 34 kills compared to STAC's 29. The Wildcats also had 8 blocks and 33 assists, while the Spartans tallied 3 blocks and 28 assists.
  • Daemen outhit STAC by a .144 to .127 margin for the match.
  • Chloe Weiting paced the Spartans offense with a match-high 10 kills on Sunday. She also registered six digs and a block assist.
  • Lea Venghaus tallied 22 serve assists (7.33 assists/set). Venghaus also accumulated two kills, a service ace and 11 digs for the maroon and gold.
  • Isis Barrett tallied seven kills, an assist, a service ace, three digs and a block assist on the afternoon.
  • Greta Santini racked up five kills, two assists, and six digs.
  • Kamila Zoe Rosa put together a three kill, match-high 15 dig and two block assist effort for STAC.
