
Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball team put up an impressive fight in a 3-2 non-conference loss to Holy Family University on Thursday night at the raucous, sold out Spartan Athletic Complex.
Returning home for the first of three straight matches, the Spartans (4-9, 0-2 ECC) tied the match on two occasions after winning the second and fourth sets. The Tigers (3-11, 0-2 CACC) took the first, third and decisive fifth sets to clinch the match.

How it Happened
- As a team, Holy Family recorded 51 kills compared to STAC's 50. The Tigers also had 7 blocks and 48 assists, while the Spartans tallied 6 blocks and 46 assists.
- St. Thomas Aquinas outhit Holy Family by a .223 to .211 margin for the match.
- Greta Santini paced the Spartans offense with a team-high 13 kills. Santini also tallied one service ace, seven digs and two block assists.
- Evie Paalman added 12 kills, a service ace, a team-best ten digs and two block assists.
- Anna Gazzerro recorded 24 serve assists (4.8 assists/set). Gazzerro also accumulated a service ace and five digs for the Spartans.
- Isis Barrett picked up eight kills, four service aces and three block assists on the evening.
- Lea Venghaus racked up a kill, 14 assists, two service aces and nine digs.
- Chloe Weiting put together an eight kill effort against the Tigers.
