
Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball team battled valiantly against one of the East Coast Conference's top teams on Wednesday evening, but ultimately fell to Queens College in four sets, 3-1, at the Spartan Athletic Complex.
STAC falls to 7-17 overall and 1-10 in ECC play, while Queens improves to 19-9 and 9-2.
The visiting Knights scored an opening set victory, before the Spartans tied things up in the second set. However, Queens would power their way to victories in sets three and four to take the team triumph.

How it Happened
- As a team, Queens recorded 39 kills compared to STAC's 36. The Knights also had 15 blocks and 39 assists, while the Spartans tallied 5 blocks and 35 assists.
- Queens outhit STAC by a .190 to .044 margin for the match.
- Evie Paalman and Greta Santini led the Spartans offense with a team-high nine kills apiece. Paalman also registered three service aces, eight digs and a block assist, with Santini racking up an assist, two service aces, a team-high 17 digs and a block assist.
- Lea Venghaus recorded 31 serve assists (7.75 assists/set). Venghaus also accumulated a kill, six digs and two block assists for the maroon and gold.
- Isis Barrett tallied six kills, an assist, a service ace, five digs and three block assists on the evening.
- Chloe Weiting posted six kills, an assist, 11 digs and a block assist against the Knights.
- Christianna Roberts added to the Spartans totals with four kills, a dig and two block assists.
- Dahiana Garcia Atuesta kept the opposition from scoring and the ball in play with an assist and 16 digs over four sets.
