Lady Spartan Cross Country Ranked #10 in East Region

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's cross country team has been ranked #10 in the East Region according to the latest USTFCCCA poll.  The Lady Spartans move into the poll for the first time this season following their conference championship on Sunday.

Sunday marked the second time the Lady Spartans earned a conference crown in the past three years.  With only two returners from the 2010 championship team, the key contributors consisted of a talented young group.

The Lady Spartans have been led by ECC All-Conference 1st team selection Keeley Bateman. The junior has been the first STAC runner to cross the line in 6 of 7 races this season and set a new school 5K record of 18:45 at the NJIT Highlander Invitational on October 7th.  Freshman Meagan Jaskot, an All-Conference 2nd Team honoree has been another consistent threat for the squad.  She has established herself as a top runner in the ECC this season and will continue to improve over the next three years.

STAC will next compete at the NCAA DII East Regional Race in Nashua, NH on November 4th.  The top three teams from the race will advance to the National Championship.
