Cross Country Teams Garner All-Academic Honors

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association has announced both the Spartan Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams as All-Academic Honorees.  This is the second consecutive year that both teams have earned the award.

The men's squad, lead by individual honorees Michael Galonski and Joseph Chegwidden, recorded a team GPA of 3.05.  They were just as well represented within their sport this year, as they were in the classroom, finishing the season with a school best 11th place finish at the NCAA DII East Regional race.  Galonski and Joseph Capolino were name to the All-Conference Team.

On the women's side, the team was lead by individual award winner Keeley Bateman.  The women's team recorded a team GPA of 3.21.  The women's cross country season was higlighted by their 2nd ECC Conference crown in three years.  Bateman and Meagan Jaskot were all-conference honorees.

 

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have compiled a team score at their respective NCAA regional championship.  A total of 127 institutions represent 23 conferences that compose the group.
