St. Thomas Aquinas freshman Kristen Borriello has been named to the USTFCCCA East All-Region team for her performance in the regional championship of November 22nd. Borriello finished in 19th place which is a program best for the Lady Spartans. Her time of 22:40 in the STAC school record in the 6K. This only the second time in program history that a Lady Spartan has won this award.
Borriello had an oustanding freshman year. She was a 2nd Team All-Conference honoree while helping the Lady Spartan to a second place finish at the ECC Championship. She also won her first race at the CTC Championship where the Lady Spartans also finished in first. She was the top finisher twice and in the top two in all but one race this season as a rookie.
Head Coach Nicole Ballou is very confident in her ability and her drve to suceed. "Kristen had a great high school career and she has taken things to the next level. She is a tough racer that thrives on competition. She will be a top runner, not only in the conference, but also in the region over the next three years."
