Spartan Runners Lend A Hand at South Nyack 10 Miler

The St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country team opened their season at the South Nyack 10 Miler.  Instead of racing, they volunteered to distribute water to the 417 participants.  The race raises money of for the South Nyack and Piermont Volunteer Fire Departments, the Rockland Road Runner Scholarship Fund and the Nyack Soup Kitchens.

At the 26th Annual South Nyack Ten Miler Race hosted by the Rockland Roadrunners,  the Spartans provided support, cold drinks  and ice pops to the race participants at two separate locations along the race route.

Half of the Spartan squad cheered on the race finishers from the Piermont Pier where they handed out water and gatorade at the midpoint of the race.  The rest of the STAC team handed out water and ice pops in front of the Village of Grandview Village Hall at Mile 2 and again at Mile 8.
