STAC Cross Country Teams Pick Up First Place Finishes at St. Joseph's College Golden Eagle Invitational

On Sunday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country program competed at the St. Joseph's College Golden Eagle Invitational. Both squads finished first overall among competitors participating in the respective men's and women's races at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y.

In the women's race, Abagaile Kimbrell was the top finisher on the day with a time of 18:41.02, which was good for first place. Following Kimbrell in order of finish were: Christina Maretzo (19:54.03/2nd Place), Ciara Durcan (20:10.22/3rd Place), Lesly Marcin (20:14.98/4th Place), Madison Roth (20:29.11/6th Place), Grace Gregory (21:06.26), Sofia Echeverria (21:43.95), Ruby Pekin-Schlicht (22:27.33), Emma Neil (24:45.51) and Nicole Gysin (27:04.40).

Meanwhile, Daniel Agostinho-Vides was the top men's finisher on the afternoon with a time of 27:01.77 (5th place). Following Agostinho-Vides in order of finish were: Matt Tina (27:06.30/6th Place), Andrew Drescher (27:26.06), James Polisena (27:47.52), Thomas Bovenberg (27:54.93), Alex Quillan (28:32.48), Jorge Dutan (28:56.86), Charlie Moore (29:27.71), Jack Terry-Kantor (29:36.10) and Kieran Keenan (32:17.96).

The Spartans next compete at the St. Joseph's Invitational on Saturday, October 16. The women's and men's races will be held at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, N.Y.
