Farmingdale, N.Y. - On Saturday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country program closed out its 2022 schedule, competing in the NCAA Division II East Region Championships, which were hosted by Adelphi University at Bethpage State Park. The STAC women's team finished ninth in their 6K race, while the men's squad took an 18th place finish in their 10K event.
Skylar Moreno was the top STAC finisher on the day with a time of 23:39.5, taking 33rd overall in the women's 6K race. Following Moreno in order of finish were: Ciara Durcan (24:33.2), Gabriella Mott (24:45.8), Lesly Marcin (24:52.3), Madison Roth (25:15.3) and Samantha Frisbee (26:18.8).
Meanwhile, James Hughes was the top Spartan finisher on the afternoon with a time of 35:06.2, placing 83rd in the men's 10K event. Following Hughes in order of finish were: Andrew Drescher (35:12.0), Alex Quillan (36:11.8), Charlie Moore (36:33.8), John Ciuffo (37:05.0), James Polisena (37:05.1) and Kieran Keenan (37:42.0).
