Purchase, N.Y. - On Saturday, St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country competed at the SUNY Purchase College Invitational to kick-off the program's 2022 season. Both squads finished first among the field of competitors participating in the respective races in Purchase, N.Y.
For the men, Andrew Drescher was the top finisher on the day with a time of 27:56.3 (1st place). Following Drescher in order of finish were: James Hughes (28:55.0), James Polisena (30:34.8), Charlie Moore (30:45.9), Kieran Keenan (30:50.8), Jack Terry-Kantor (31:00.5), John Ciuffi (31:02.1), Thomas Bovenberg (32:20.0), Michael Califiore (32:42.8) and Kyle Koenig (33:31.8).
Meanwhile, Skylar Moreno was the top women's finisher on the afternoon with a time of 19:26.6 (1st place). Following Moreno in order of finish were: Ciara Durcan (20:49.6), Gabriella Mott (21:52.5), Madison Roth (22:04.6), Sophia Echeverria (22:41.8), Lesly Marcin (23:26.4), Samantha Frisbee (23:39.0), Nicole Gysin (24:56.3) and Ciara Doyle (28:47.8).
The Spartans will next compete at the Manhattan College Jasper Fall Cross Country Invitational, which will be held on Saturday, September 17 at Twin Ponds on the Farm in Montgomery, N.Y.
