Kings Park, N.Y. - On Saturday afternoon, the St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country program competed at the St. Joseph's College Invitational. The men's squad finished first overall, while the women's team took its second consecutive second place finish, at races contested at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, N.Y.
Skylar Moreno was the top STAC finisher on the day with a time of 20:36.6, taking 3rd overall in the women's 5K race. Following Moreno in order of finish were: Ciara Durcan (20:55.7/7th Place), Gabriella Mott (21:13.5), Madison Roth (21:53.4), Samantha Frisbee (23:49.4), Nicole Gysin (25:26.4), Ciara Doyle (27:47.3) and Adrian Schepis (32:28.1).
Meanwhile, Andrew Drescher was the top Spartan finisher on the afternoon with a time of 28:57.6, placing 9th in the men's 8K event. Following Drescher in order of finish were: James Hughes (29:32.5), Alex Quillan (29:49.7), Jack Terry-Kantor (30:18.4), James Polisena (30:34.3), Charlie Moore (31:02.3), John Ciuffo (31:03.7), Kieran Keenan (31:47.1), Michael Califore (32:11.8), Kyle Koenig (33:43.3) and Sebastian Cherry (42:20.6).
Next up for St. Thomas Aquinas, the Adelphi University Short-Course Showdown on Friday, October 21 at Bethpage Polo at the Park in Farmingdale, N.Y.
STAC will then host its annual alumni run on Saturday, October 22 at Tallman Mountain State Park in Sparkill, NY.
