Zoe Merryman Named to All-Region Team, As Cross Country Wraps Up 2023 Season At NCAA Division II East Regional

Hopkinton, N.H. - On Saturday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country program closed out its 2023 schedule, competing in the NCAA Division II East Region Championships, which were hosted by Franklin Pierce University at the Hopkington Fair Grounds. The STAC women's team finished 12th in their 6K race, while the men's squad placed 18th place finish in their 10K event.

In addition, freshman Zoe Merryman (Mahwah, N.J.) was named to the All-Region Team in recognition of her outstanding 2023 season and regional race, where she placed 21st overall.

The aforementioned Merryman was the top STAC finisher on the day with a time of 22:52.0. Following Zoe in order of finish were: Ciara Durcan (25:25.8), Isabella Esposito-Farino (26:33.7), Samantha Frisbee (27:11.5), Emma Neil (28:01.4), Kristen Kennedy (28:10.5) and Nicole Gysin (31:12.9).

Meanwhile, James Polisena was the top Spartan finisher on the afternoon with a time of 36:23.8, placing 109th in the men's 10K event. Following Polisena in order of finish were: Charlie Moore (36:29.0), John Ciuffo (37:16.0), Ian Forsyth (38:29.8), Alex Quillan (38:55.2) and Kyle Koenig (39:05.2).
