STAC Cross Country Teams Score Pair of Top Ten Finishes at St. Joseph's University Invitational

Kings Park, N.Y. - On Saturday afternoon, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Cross Country program competed in yet another rainy event at the St. Joseph's University Invitational. The team posted a pair of top ten finishes, with the women's squad finishing third overall and the men's team placing tenth, in races contested at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, N.Y.

Zoe Merryman was the top STAC finisher on the day with a time of 19:37.9, taking second overall in the women's 5K race. Following Merryman in order of finish were: Ciara Durcan (20:31.4/6th Place), Isabella Esposito-Farino (22:42.9), Samantha Frisbee (23:00.6), Jacqueline Kelly (23:24.5), Kristen Kennedy (24:25.0), Emma Neil (24:55.2), Nicole Gysin (25:18.9), Ciara Doyle (25:21.4) and Veronica Valentik (25:33.7).

Meanwhile, James Polisena was the top Spartan finisher on the afternoon with a time of 29:38.3 placing 20th in the men's 8K event. Following Polisena in order of finish were: Charlie Moore (31:40.8), Nicholas Seitz (32:15.9), John Ciuffo (33:14.6), Kyle Koenig (33:30.8) and Ian Forsyth (33:56.6).

Next up for St. Thomas Aquinas, the East Coast Conference Championships on Saturday, October 21. The postseason race will be hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University in Rochester, N.Y.
