
Rochester, N.Y. - On Saturday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country program closed out its 2024 schedule, competing in the NCAA Division II East Region Championships, which were hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University at the Matt St. James Cross Country Trails on the Western New York campus. The STAC women's team finished 13th in their 6K race, while the men's squad placed 17th in their 10K event.
Zoe Merryman was the top STAC women's finisher on the day with a time of 23:27.6, finishing 32nd in a field of 135 runners in the women's 6K. Following Zoe in order of finish were: Ciara Durcan (23:34.1), Sophonie Michel (24:58.5), Isabella Farino-Esposito (25:24.9), Emma Neil (26:13.4), Samantha Frisbee (26:42.5) and Kristen Kennedy (28:47.2).
Meanwhile, James Polisena was the top Spartan men's finisher on the afternoon with a time of 34:41.8, placing 82nd in a field of 140 runners in the men's 10K. Following Polisena in order of finish were: John Ciuffo (35:54.7), Kaleb Rayle (36:07.4) Pedro Mulero Martinez (36:08.2), Charlie Moore (36:09.2) and Colin Graham (36:53.1).
