William Whitton has been named the East Coast Conference Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, following the Spartans latest race, the NJIT Cross Country Invitational, which took place on Saturday at Branch Brook Park in Newark, New Jersey.
Whitton (Tappan, N.Y.) placed 33rd in the men's 8k race with a time of 27:55.2 at the NJIT Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, while also helping his team to a fifth-place overall finish.
The Spartans will next host their annual Alumni Race on Saturday, October 18 (10:00 a.m.) at Tallman Mountain State Park in Sparkill, New York.
