Preview: Diodonet Set for NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships Thursday
St. Thomas Aquinas College Track & Field standout, Saint Jacob Diodonet begins his quest for a National Championship on Thursday, taking to the track at 5:40pm in the 400 Meter Dash in Charlotte, North Carolina. This year's championships are being hosted by Johnson C. Smith University at the Irwin Belk Complex.
 
How He Got Here - Diodonet officially qualified for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at the University of Mount Olive Final Qualifier on May 13th in North Carolina, when Saint finished his 400 Meter race in 47.19, and hit the 18th fastest time in the country and a Top-15 time for those who were declared for the event.
 
In the Postseason - This will be Saint's 4th overall National Championship appearance, his first on an outdoor track. In March of this year, Diodonet placed 15th overall in the 200 Meter Dash (21.64) and 16th in the 400 Meter Dash (48.65) at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held in Pittsburg, Kansas. The junior sprinter from West Milford, N.J. has participated in an NCAA Track & Field National Championship each of his first three years at St. Thomas Aquinas College.
 

What's Next? - The Top-2 finishers in each of the three preliminary heats Thursday advance to the final on Saturday afternoon, which takes place at 4:25pm.
