Let the Battle Begin - Spartans confront Warriors at East Stroudsburg in Tuesday Night Tussle

Fresh off a weekend split at the Dominican College Tournament, the St. Thomas Aquinas College men's basketball team takes a 2-1 record to the Keystone State as East Stroudsburg University hosts in a 7 pm start.

After bolting from the gate with a pair of victories over Nyack College, including the opening contest at the Dominican College Tournament, the Spartans suffered their first setback of the season against the hosts on Saturday. Justin Brown has lived up to his all-conference honors of a year ago thus far, pacing the Spartans with an impressive 18.7 points per game. Newcomer Mike Woods has also made his presence felt, averaging 11.3 ppg.

East Stroudsburg comes in at 2-3 off a pair of weekend thrillers at home, defeating Gannon, 90-89, before falling to Clarion by a 65-63 score. The Warriors' offensive charge is led by the trio of Whis Grant (17.2 ppg), Duane Johnson (14.2) and Terrance King (12.0).

This will be game three of five straight away from home for the Spartans, as they proceed to face legendary Coach Herb Magee's Philadelphia University on Sunday, November 27; and take the turnpike south to meet Wilmington University in Delaware on Wednesday, November 30. They return to Sparkill to host Queens College in their East Coast Conference opener on Wednesday, December 7. Tip-off time for that game is set for 7:30 pm after the women's contest, and both games will be carried live on New Media Television Sports.
