Emmanuel Mena Jimenez Places Fifth At NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Earns All-American Accolades

Indianapolis, Ind. - St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Track & Field star, Emmanuel Mena Jimenez competed in the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships on Friday at the Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds

In the fourth NCAA Division II National Championship meet of his collegiate career, Mena Jimenez (Gr.|West Haverstraw, N.Y.) placed fifth in the Weight Throw event with a toss of 20.23 meters or 66 feet, 4 and 1/2 inches.

In addition to his day of competition, Manny made news outside of the cage, as he was named a United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) First Team All-American selection.

Mena Jimenez wraps up his indoor season winning the weight throw competition five times in seven opportunities during 2024-25, including the gold medal at the ECC Indoor Track & Field Championships where he turned in a career-best, ECC-leading, and NCAA East Region-leading mark of 21.12m (69' 3 1/2"). As a result of his outstanding campaign, Manny was also named USTFCCCA All-East Region and East Coast Conference All-Conference selections. He also earned ECC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week accolades on two occasions (January 14 & February 11) and was tabbed the ECC Preseason Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year.

Mena Jimenez will now rejoin his teammates and begin preparations for the upcoming Outdoor Track & Field season, which got underway with the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge, March 14-15 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
