Spartans Climb Leaderboard on Day Two of NCAA Division II Golf Championship

Dearborn, Michigan - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Golf team moved up the leaderboard during second round action of the NCAA Division II Golf Championship on Tuesday at TPC Michigan. The Spartans carded a team score of 306 for the day, which is 18 over par and places them 14th among the 20-team field. Through 36 holes STAC holds a team score of 614 and is 38 over par.

Sophomore Norman Viron (76) led the team for the day and is currently tied for 37rd place overall with a two-day score of 151. Nolan Skaggs (78), Donte Groppuso (75), Joe Tammaro (77) and Jake Yarmolowitz (84) rounded out the Spartan scoring on day two.

STAC will tee off beginning at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday (May 18), as the final round of stroke play gets underway in Dearborn, Michigan. The top eight teams at the end of 54 holes will advance to the medal round, which begins on Thursday with both quarterfinal and semifinal action.
