  • Spartan Golf Team Earn Ping East-All Region Awards

    The St. Thomas Aquinas golf team earned numerous post season awards as all five of the starting squad were named the Ping East-All Region Team.
  • Spartan Golf Finish 15th in NCAA Championship

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team finished the 2014 season tied for 15th place in the NCAA Division II men's golf championship. Senior Thomas Linehan and teammate Kai Rastetter paced the Spartans finishing tied for 30th place overall. After five trips to the NCAA Championship, 15th place is the best finish in the program history.

    Well we didn't have the finish we needed to make match play, and my collegiate golf career has come to an end. We finished in a tie for 15th place, which I think is the best finish for STAC at the national championship. Individually Nik and I tied for 30th place in the 108 player field shooting 11 over par over the three rounds.

  • Spartans Tied for 13th After Round 1

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team finished tied for 13th place after round one of the NCAA Division II men's golf championship. Senior Thomas Linehan led the Spartans carding a 5-over, 76 on the tough Meadows Course in Grand Rapids.

  • Spartans Set for NCAA Championship

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team are set to compete in the 2014 Division II NCAA Championship held at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, MI. The Spartans finished in 2nd place in the Atlantic/East Region two weeks ago to automatically qualify for the NCAA Championship. This is STAC's 5th trip to the NCAA Championship, led by senior Thomas Linehan who is making his 3rd NCAA Championship appearance.
  • Spartans Finish 2nd at NCAA Super Regionals, Advancing to NCAA Championship

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team finished in 2nd place at the 2014 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Atlantic/East Super Regional. The Spartans were tied for 3rd after their opening round and then went on to secure 1st place after a school record breaking 11-under par second round. STAC struggled a little in their final round however set themselves nicely for a second place finish and a trip to the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team shot a school record 11-under par to forge ahead of the pack and take the lead at the NCAA Division II Super Regional. Rai Kastetter set the pace carding a 4-under 67, with 5 birdies and 1 bogey. Brendan Hunter and Thomas Linehan shot 3-under in their 2nd rounds respectively.
  • Spartans Finish Tied For 3rd After Opening Round

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team finished tied for third place after the opening round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional. Brendan Hunter led the Spartans with a team low 71 for a first round of even par. STAC Finished the day 7-strokes off the leader, LeMoyne College and 1-stroke off the second place team, University of Charleston.

  • Spartans Set for 2014 NCAA Super Regional

    The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team is set to compete at the 2014 Men's Golf Atlantic/East Regional at Edgewood Country Club in Sissonville, W.Va. on May 5-7. The Spartans are currently ranked 3rd in the East Region behind Wilmington (DE) and Adelphi.
  • Spartans Take 2nd in Spring Invitational, Koerner Sets School Record

    Junior Niklas Koerner set the 36 hole school record with a 7-under par 137 after carding rounds of 70 and 67 at the 13th annual St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational. Battling winds gusting at 30 mph, Koerner paced the team on day one with the tournament low round of 70 (-2). Freshman Kevin Gately and sophomore Kai Rastetter both put together solids rounds of 74 (+2).
  • Spartans Finish 7th at Campbell Oil/Sunoco Classic

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men’s golf team headed back down to North Carolina to face off with some of the southern region schools in the UNC Pembroke Campbell Oil Classic at River Landing Golf Club in Wallace, NC. Although the team did not have it’s best outing of the season, they managed to put together a 3-round team score of 915 (308-302-305), good for a 7th place finish.
  • Spartans Finish 2nd at St. James Plantation Invitational

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men’s golf team finished 2nd in their latest tournament down at the Founder’s Club in Southport, N.C. On day 1 the Spartans posted a team score of 613 after rounds of 307 and 306. The team was led by Niklas Koerner who carded stellar rounds of 77 and 72.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's golf team didn't let the long, cold winter put a damper on their hot play from the fall. At the Tiffin University "Battle at the Beach" held at Myrtlewood Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, the Spartans came back from 6 shots back to capture first place.
  • Men’s Golf Set to Give Back and Participate in Folds of Honor

    In an effort to raise awareness and honor of our current and past heros, the Spartans golf team will be wearing a commemorative shirt and hat in the final round of each of their spring events. The team will also be reaching out to the community in an effort to donate at least $500 to help support this cause.
  • Hunter Sets Team Record En Route to Spartans 2nd Consecutive Victory

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men’s golf team captured its second straight tournament victory with a heart-pounding come from behind win at the Port Jefferson Intercollegiate. This was the first annual event held at the beautiful Port Jefferson Country Club in Long Island, co-hosted by Adelphi University and St. Thomas Aquinas College.
  • Spartans Capture Title at Turning Stone Invitational; Linehan Takes Home medalist honors

    Senior Tommy Linehan led the St. Thomas Aquinas men’s golf team to its second victory of the season with a wire to wire victory at the Turning Stone Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University. The event was played on the difficult Kaluhyat golf courses and consisted of 54 holes of stroke play.
  • Spartans Capture Title at Goldey-Beacom Invitational

    Led by freshman Brendan Hunter, the St. Thomas Aquinas Men’s golf team finished took home first place at the Goldey-Beacom Fall Invitational held at Odessa National Golf Club in Townsend, MD. Hunter continued his hot start to the fall with an opening round of 72 (E) and was backed up by fellow freshman Kevin Gately who carded a solid round of 75 (+3).
  • Spartan Golf Team Open with Strong Start at St. John's "Don Gimmler"

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men’s golf team started their fall 2013 season at the “Doc Gimmler” hosted by Division I St. John’s University at Bethpage State Park. Day one had the team set to play 36 consecutive holes of golf. During round 1 the Spartans played a steady round of team golf posting a score of 287. Leading the team were Kai Rastetter and Niklas Koerner who carded rounds of 71.
