    The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Cross Country team has been named a 2015 Division II All-Academic team by the USTFCCCA. Sophomore standout Kristen Borriello has also garnered an individual All-Academic award.
  • Spartan Cross Country Competes at NCAA DII National Championship

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Cross Country team competed at the 2015 NCAA DII National Championship on Saturday in Joplin, Missouri. This was the first-ever national championship appearance for the program following a standout season. The Spartans finished ranking 31st in the nation in Division II.

The article highlights her road to the NCAA DII Cross Country National Championship despite battling cystic fibrosis. Katie and the Spartan Cross Country team make the programs first ever National appearance on Saturday in Joplin, Missouri.
  • Ventarola and Borriello Earn All-Region Awards

    St. Thomas Aquinas cross country runners Meaghan Ventarola and Kristen Borriello were named to the 2015 All-Region team following their performances at the NCAA East Regional Race in Hopkinton, NH on Sunday. Ventarola finished in 12th place overall while setting the Spartan 6K record of 22:07. Borriello crossed the line just one second later in 13th place.
  • Women's Cross Country Heading to National Championship

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Cross Country team has qualified for the program's first-ever National Championship. The SPARTANS finished 3rd in the NCAA East Regional race at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in New Hampshire.

    On October 19, 2015 the Spartan XC/Track and Field team volunteered at the Heritage of West Nyack 3rd Annual Fall Festival. The Student Athletes volunteered in every aspect of the event and enjoyed helping out the community.
  • Five Spartans Named All-Conference Runners

    Following strong performance at the 2015 East Coast Conference Cross Country Championships, five runners were named to the All-Conference team. Sophomore Kristen Borriello was named to the First Team, while Sophomore Katie O'Grady, senior Gabriela Sloezen and redshirt junior Meaghan Ventarola were name to the Second Team. Sophomore Vincent Vazquez was named to the men's Second Team.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Cross Country team finished 3rd in the East Coast Conference Championship. Sophomore Kristen Borriello set a new Spartan 5K record, while many personal records were set by the team. Sophomore Vincent Vazquez led the men's squad also running a personal best.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Cross Country team was ranked 7th in the East region by the USTFCCCA. The team has appeared in the ranking every week this season. The team is led by sophomore Kristen Borriello and redshirt junior Meaghan Ventarola who have traded off the top spot throughout the season.
  • Kristen Borriello Named ECC Runner of the Week

    St. Thomas Aquinas sophomore Kristen Borriello has been named the East Coast Conference Runner of the Week following a strong performance at the Jack St. Clair Memorial. Borriello fi nished in 4th place overall, but was the 2nd collegiate racer to cross the line. She covered the 6K course in 24:25, helping the Spartans to a second place finish.
  • Harley Ruiz Tabbed Rookie of the Week

    The East Coast Conference has named St. Thomas Aquinas freshman Harley Ruiz the Rookie of the Week. Ruiz finished the Belmont 8K course in 30:34. As the third Spartan to cross the line, he helped STAC to a 4th place finish. Ruiz has been a consistent scorer in his collegiate campaign and has shown great improvement each race.
  • Borriello Finishes 2nd; Spartans Take Home Awards at Jack Saint Clair Memorial

    The Spartan cross country team competed at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia,PA. The women’s team finished in 2nd behind the strong efforts of sophomore Kristen Borriello. Borriello, who was the 2nd collegiate finisher, covered the 6K course in 24:25. Redshirt junior Meghan Ventarola also ran a strong race finishing in 9th place. The men’s squad earned a 4th place team finish with sophomore Vincent Vazquez leading the way.
  • Meaghan Ventarola Named Runner of the Week

    Meaghan Ventarola of the Spartan Women's Cross Country team has been named the East Coast Conference Runner of the Week. Ventarola set the STAC 5K record with her time of 18:28 at the Technology XC Challenge. Her fourth place finish helped to secure the Spartans a first place team finish.
  • Spartan Cross Country Regionally Ranked for 4th Consecutive Week

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Cross Country Team held their spot at #5 in the USTFCCCA East Region Rankings. The Spartans have won their last two races with a strong team effort. Redshirt junior Meaghan Ventarola set the STAC 5K school record on Saturday at the NJIT Technology XC Challenge.

    Redshirt Junior Meaghan Ventarola set the new STAC 5 K record clocking a time of 18:28 at the NJIT Technology XC Challenge. Ventarola's 4th place finish helped to set the stage for the women's team victory. The me finished in 2nd place overall behind sophomore Vinny Vazquez's 11th place finish.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's cross country team has been ranked 5th in the East Region by the USTFCCCA. The team has been ranked in every week of the poll this season, dropping one spot after an idle week from competition.
  • Spartan Cross Country Holds 4th Place Ranking

    The USTFCCCA has released the second regional poll of the cross country season and the St. Thomas Aquinas cross country team remained in the 4th spot. This ranking follows a strong showing at the LIU Post Invitational where the team took 1st place. The win featured 3 top ten finishes by Kristen Borriello (5th), Meaghan Ventarola (6th) and Katie O'Grady (10th).
  • Women's Cross Country Wins Invitational

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Cross Country team won their first race of the season at the LIU Post Invitational on Saturday. The win featured 3 top ten finishes by Kristen Borriello (5th), Meaghan Ventarola (6th) and Katie O'Grady (10th). Sophomore Vincent Vazquez was the first finisher for the men who earned a 5th place finish.

    The Spartan cross country team moved up three place in the USTFCCCA East Region Poll following their 2nd place finish at the Fordham Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial. The team, which was ranked 7th in the preseason poll was led by redshirt junior Meaghan Ventarola.

Redshirt junior Meaghan Ventarola and sophomore Kristen Borriello lead the way for the women's team. Sophomore Vincent Vazquez was the first finisher for the men's team.

    The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's & Women's Cross Country teams will begin their season on Saturday at the Fordham Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial. The women's squad has been preseason ranked 7th in the East region and has been chosen to finish 3rd in the East Coast Conference. The men's team has been voted to finish 4th in the conference.
