QUEENS, NY – The St. Thomas Aquinas College men’s tennis team concluded their season today, dropping a 5-0 decision to #33 New York Institute of Technology in the semifinals of the East Coast Conference tournament. The match, hosted by Queens College, was moved indoors under threat of inclement weather.
SPARKILL, NY – Playing at the friendly confines of “The Dome” for the last time this season, the St. Thomas Aquinas men’s tennis team shut out Rockland Community College by a final score of 9-0. The win marked the tenth of the season – the most wins in a season in the history of the program while also snapping a five game skid.
OLD WESTBURY, NY – Despite dropping their match at New York Institute of Technology 8-1, the St. Thomas Aquinas College men’s tennis team has a lot to celebrate. For the first time in program history, the Spartans have earned a berth in the East Coast Conference tournament as the number four seed.
SPARKILL, NY – After playing their last three matches on the road, the St. Thomas Aquinas men’s tennis team returned to “The Dome” on Senior Day to take on East Coast Conference opponent and East Region #3 Queens College. The Spartans were unable to keep their home record unblemished, as they lost to the heavily-favored Knights 8-1.
WASHINGTON, DC – On Friday, the St. Thomas Aquinas men’s tennis team traveled to our nation’s capital to face conference foe University of the District of Columbia, in what might have been the closest match of the season. Searching for their second conference win, the Firebirds took a 2-1 lead out of the doubles slate, winning at first and third doubles.
MIDDLEBURY, CT – The St. Thomas Aquinas men’s tennis team came within mere points of upsetting East Region #9 Post University, losing 5-4 on Tuesday afternoon. With the match tied at 4-4, the deciding point came down to the third set at #2 singles, as Martin Munoz of Post defeated Javier Munoz ’17 (Sevilla, Spain) 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
CALDWELL, NJ - The St. Thomas Aquinas men’s tennis team ran into a buzzsaw, as red-hot Caldwell University defeated the Spartans 8-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Cougars swept all three doubles matches to command a huge lead that proved to be insurmountable for the Spartans.
St. Thomas Aquinas men's tennis player Aaron Stahl won at both single and doubles in the Spartans 6-3 victory over Bloomfield on March 22. In singles play, Stahl topped Ville Heikkilae in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, at the No. 1 position. Stahl also won at No. 1 doubles by a tally of 8-6.
The St. Thomas Aquinas men's tennis team fell to Bentley College, 6-3 on Friday. Aaron Stahl, Andrue Ferragut and Roger Almato each won their singles match against the Falcons.

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's tennis team lost to Wayne State University, 7-2 on Monday afternoon. Aaron Stahl and Javier Munoz-Laguna each won their singles matches in the first and second fight respectively.
ORANGEBURG, NY - At Match Point Tennis Club, the St. Thomas Aquinas men’s tennis team defeated Kutztown University, 8-0 to conclude their fall portion of the schedule. This was the program-record fifth straight win for the Spartans.

Taking a 3-0 into singles action, the Spartans held off the hard-charging Golden Rams to win at second, third, and sixth singles to win the match.
PHILADELPHIA, PA – The St. Thomas Aquinas College men’s tennis team won their third consecutive match, defeating Philadelphia University 6-3. Returning to the friendly confines of Legacy Youth Tennis Center, the Spartans got off to a good start, winning at first and second doubles and heading into singles action with a 2-1 lead in the match.

Javier Munoz ’17 (Sevilla, Spain) and Andreu Ferragut ’18 (Palma de Mallorca, Spain) continued their strong starts to the season with wins at second and third singles, respectively.
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – For the third time in the last two seasons, the St. Thomas Aquinas College men’s tennis team defeated a Division I opponent, winning at Rider University 5-2. Double-winners for the Spartans included Javier Munoz ’17 (Sevilla, Spain), Aaron Stahl ’18 (Dusseldorf, Germany), and James Bruce ’19 (London, England).
The St. Thomas Aquinas College men’s tennis team is off to a great start to their 2015-16 campaign. Having just had their best finish in program history at the USTA/ITA Regional Tournament.
